Dulwich College Beijing

Welcome to Dulwich College Beijing

About Dulwich College Beijing

In 2003 Dulwich College London founded their first international school in China, and in August 2003 our magnificent, purpose-built school opened its doors to over 500 new students in Shanghai. This was the first step for Dulwich College in creating bold and valuable links with Asia.

In August 2005, Dulwich College Beijing opened officially with over 500 students.

The autumn of 2006 saw the opening of brand new facilities in both Shanghai and Beijing, furthering our aim of bringing a world class international education to expatriate children in Asia.

The founding of Dulwich College in China is a direct consequence of the initial vision of the great actor of Shakespeare and Marlow's day, Edward Alleyn. Having made his fortune in the Rose Theatre in Bankside in London, he spent it with wonderful foresight and generosity to found his college. He created a school built on the ideals of academic excellence, commitment to the community and quality in all things.

The Dulwich College educational philosophy is to place equal emphasis on a student's intellectual and personal development, hence students are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of activities at the College, inside and outside the classroom.

Students and Academic Education

In addition to the obvious benefits of promoting fitness and a healthy lifestyle, involvement in sport is one of the best ways to develop social, team and leadership skills.  At school students have a chance to experiment and to discover where their skills lie by trying their hand at a variety of sports, and many will continue to be involved in these in their adult lives. Our commitment is to have a large range of sports available along with high levels of professional coaching.

Performance is the heart of a school. Our aim is to give every student the opportunity to perform for themselves, their friends and their families. Some will be soloists, others will shine as part of a group, but all will have the reward of being a part of a community that is proud of what it does. Our standards are high and the development of this area of school life is a high priority.
